Here is an update of the situation about the Bush from the Business Relations Manager of Punch Taverns, courtesy of Glynne Clay (thanks Glynne):
"The pub is due to reopen mid June, the exact date, has as yet not been agreed, as you will appreciate when putting a listed building back together things do not always go to plan. A new lessee is on board and they have an excellent track record. Their menu is superb and standards will be of the highest order. They are a married couple, one from Cowbridge, one from Kent, no children currently and they will be living in the pub. No old [we think he means “previous”!] staff will be involved as far as I am aware and our new couple will be putting their own team together. The pub as mentioned is listed so the scope of works is largely a restoration of the original though there will be elements of improvement and some with a wow factor but you will have to wait until it reopens to find out what’s changed. I am confident that the Bush will be a credit to the village for many years to come and become the place to eat in the Vale."
