Over the last three days the village has been hit by a series of power cuts. A source at Western Power told the village club reporter on Monday that a "third party has damaged the power lines to the village". |
A local source said "a digger working at the Bush looking for a small cable, hit the main one." That was followed on Wednesday by the failure of the transformer on the village green. A Western Power spokesman said that it was unprecendented for the two events to occur so close together in the same place. A temporary generator has been installed. Hopefully, normal power supplies will be restored within 24 hours.
