Sunday 27th September 2020 was a very special day. We were given the go ahead by Vale Council to hold our annual St Hilary Foragers' Produce Market on the village green. The surplus from the event was earmarked for two local foodbanks - Vale Foodbank and Action for Caerau and Ely (ACE).
It was a perfect day with sunshine all the way - which meant that we had many visitors to welcome! Click here to read the comments we received.
We were overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown by everyone – which was reflected in the amount of money that we raised for the foodbanks – a staggering £1,420! And, over £200 worth of donated groceries to share as well. Click here to read their thank you letters.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave their support by:
- donating fruit and vegetables from their gardens/allotments
- making/baking/apple pressing
- helping with setting up/clearing up
- working on the stalls
- buying the produce – cakes were sold out and there was only a small amount of jams and chutneys left!
And a vote of thanks to the independent stallholders who supported our event with their lovely products – Vale Cider, Dove Love Ceramics, Creative Militia, Two Dogs Roasting Company and Daisy Graze.
A brilliant event with a fantastic outcome – which could only be achieved with the help and support of our amazing St Hilary community!
THANK YOU!

The stalls were busy all day long
Some visitors enjoyed the moment and others kindly donated groceries to the food banks
Meeting up with frends was a popular pastime
Of course, there was lots and lots of lovely produce
The other stallholders had a great day as well
Erecting the marquee was a team effort
And there was the opportunity for other activities
The helpers found time to have a good chin wag!
