St Hilary’s public access defibrillator arrived on 15 November 15 and is installed in its bright yellow cabinet outside the village hall ready for use in an emergency.
Villagers collected more than £1,000 towards the equipment and its installation; the residual funding needed came from local GP practices and the defibrillator charity Cariad (www.mycariad.org).
Twenty villagers gathered in the village hall to hear Adrian Hughes, a volunteer with Cariad explain how, why and when the defibrillator should be used.
